Two million American dollars was granted this year by the Congregational
Evangelic Church of Angola (IECA), through its Regional Department
of Social Assistance, Studies and Projects, for the benefit of
the needy population.
Speaking to ANGOP, the head of the referred department, Luís
Samankumbi affirmed that the amount financed by the Norwegian
Church is being spent on the implementation of 38 projects in
Chipindo locality (Huíla province), Huambo, Kuando Kubango,
Benguela, Bié and Kwanza Sul.
These are projects of integration and rural development, construction
of primary and second schools, as well as building of fountains
to benefit over 26,000 people.
Under the same financing, aimed at responding to some cases of
easily treated illnesses, the church trained over 250 health promoters,
and distributed kits of equipment and medicine to 30 midwives
in Chipindo and Mavinga.
