The second edition of the Angola International Mining Fair
(FIMA) is scheduled for June, in Luanda, and will be attended
by over 130 national and foreign companies.
In its first edition, held from April 27 to 30 in 2006,
in Luanda, FIMA achieved a business volume of about USD
30 million and counted on

| participation of 120 exhibitors.
According to an official source, apart from the exhibition of firms,
this event intends to reflect on the diamond mining industry and
that of other minerals.
To happen at venue of the Luanda International Trade Fair (FILDA),
under the theme “Challenges of the Mining Industry in Support
to Sustainable Development”, FIMA will include exhibitions
and forums that will analyse the mining of diamonds and precious
metals with emphasis to the economic development of producing countries
in the next ten years (2008 to 2018).
FIMA is a tripartite organisation made up by the National Diamond
Company of Angola (ENDIAMA EP), Expo-Angola and the Ministry of
Geology and Mines, with the goal of divulging the country`s mining
potential to attract private investments for the sector. Source:
