Angolan President Briefed On Building Firm Odebrecht Projects 

The Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, in Luanda received in audience the chairman of the Odebrecht building company, Emílio Odebrecht, with whom he reviewed issues related to the activities carried out by the Brazilian firm in Angola.
Speaking to the press, at the end of the one-hour meeting, Emílio Odebrecht said that he informed the Angolan

President on the participation of his firm in the reconstruction process of Angola, with the investments in the African country estimated at about USD 600 million.
According to the businessman, the investment volume of Odebrecht in Angola will increase in future, with the conclusion of ongoing projects in northern Malanje Province, in the domain of agriculture, aimed at guaranteeing food security for the population.
Emilio Odebrecht said that other undertakings of the company will be extended across the country, with highlight to the production of bio-fuels project, in Kapanda area (Malanje), where some three hectares of maize and 80 hectares of sugarcane have already been planted.
He also elaborated on the setting up of a sugarcane processing industry to generate alcohol, in 2011.
Odebrecht has been operating in Angola for the past 30 years.
