Total Spends USD 4 Million On Bridges Rebuilding 

An investment estimated at USD 4 million was earmarked for the rehabilitation of four bridges in northern Zaíre, Uíge, Malanje and eastern Moxico provinces whose works started in 2006, funded by the oil company Total E&P.
According to the institution’s communiqué, the project is being carried out in collaboration with oil

firm Sonangol and the Road Institute of Angola (INEA), aimed at contributing to the rehabilitation of road infrastructures.
Worth USD 1 million, each, these undertakings will connect various communities, previously inaccessible, due to their rundown conditions.
Benefiting from rehabilitation are bridges over rivers Luculo, (Zaire province), Fiche, (Uíge), Mufuma, (Malanje), and Lumege, (Moxico).
The two-lane bridges vary between 20 and 40 metres long as well as six to eight metres wide, with a capacity to bear as much as 40 tonnes.
The conclusion of the works, being developed by the Angolan technicians, is scheduled for the end of the year.
Two bridges, over the rivers Luculo and Mufuma, have already been concluded, with the remaining ones in conclusion phase.
Apart from operating in oil field, Total E&P and its partners also conduct various social activities in the health, education and agriculture domains.
