African Observers Consider Parliamentary Election Free, Fair 

The International Observer Mission of the African Civil Society in Luanda said the Angolan parliamentary election of September 5 were free and fair.
According to the head of the mission, Toure Dagbana Innocennt, the process went in a satisfactory way and in line with internationally established rules.
The team highlighted the civism, serenity and discipline showed by the Angolan people in the process.
The observers also hailed the prompt reaction of the authorities concerned

to settled down the small problems that emerged in the process, particularly logistic insufficiencies noted in the capital, Luanda.
The national police and the political parties contesting the election were also praised for their attitude during the campaign and the voting.
According to the latest results released by the National Electoral Commission (CNE), the ruling MPLA party leads the provisional count with 4.4 million votes, that is 81,6 percent of the ballot.
Main opposition Unita follows with 559.197 votes (10,36 percent), while PRS comes third with 172.298 votes (3,19 percent). Source: ANGOP
