“We start from the principle that Angola is a sovereign country, has its own institutions like the National Assembly (Parliament), the Ministry of Finance, the Audit Court (...) the civil society”, therefore “it is there where things happen, where acts take place and where they should be assessed and monitored,” - stressed the president.

The Angolan head of State emphasised that his Government will have no problem joining the transparency movement “but in a first stage our is an internal government effort and of the monitoring instititutions”.
