Angola/Germany: Memorandum of understanding  

Berlin - Angola and Germany signed on Friday in Berlim a memorandum of understanding on strategic partnership for the strenghtening of economic

cooperation between the two countries.

In the document, signed during the ongoing official visit of the Angolan head of State to Germany, the German goverment reaffirms the willingness to make available an adequate volume of guarantees for export credits to German investors supplying goods to Angola”.

According to the document, “the two governments will namely scrutinize the existing possibilities for the use of the structured financings and for projects amounted up to Usd 1,7billion accordingly to a list of projects to be presented by the government of the Republic of Angola”.

The memmo also states the availability on the side of the government of the federal republic of Germany to grant guarantees for direct investments to german companies who want to establish in Angola. 

On its turn, the government of Angola will enable the german economy to participate in its national reconstruction program, mainly in the fiels of energy and water, mining industry, health, building construction and professional training.

The two countries will also establish bilateral discussions on air transports, reads the document made available to Angop. Source: ANGOP 02/28/09
