Angola and Guinea-Bissau in southwestern
Namibe province signed a protocol meant for the reinforcement of
bilateral cooperation in the police sphere.
Signed by the Interior ministers of both countries, Roberto Leal
Monteiro "Ngongo" (Angola) and Baciro Dabo (Guinea-Bissau),
the protocol follows talks held between respective delegations on
June 18-19, in Namibe.
According to the meeting’s final minute, the parties decided
to set up a technical commission comprising experts from signatory
States, tasked with following up the implementation of the protocol.
The said commission will be responsible for creating the conditions
for the completion of Guinea-Bissau riot police training going on
in Angola and satisfying the plan of urgent needs in terms of training,
supply of equipment and technical advising to the Guinean side.
The ceremony of signing was witnessed by Namibe provincial governor,
