The Social Aid Fund (FAS) will
invest this year more than one million American dollars in social
impact projects, in the municipalities of Porto-Amboim and Amboim,
in the central Kwanza Sul Province, as informed to ANGOP the institution`s
deputy director, Santos Filipe Figueira.
In Porto-Amboim municipality FAS will invest in the construction
of three schools, a health centre, five residences for nurses and
teachers, plus eleven community latrines.
According to the official, the municipal development component implemented
by FAS since 2003, consists in assisting local administration in
improving their capacity for planning, application and management
of local development plans, thus contributing to the success of
the decentralisation process, in progress in the country.
In this ambit, he said, FAS has been implementing 44 projects in
the municipalities of Sumbe, Amboim, Seles, Conda and Kilenda.
Some of the projects are the construction of six schools, three
health centres, two professional training centres and latrines.
