Angola`s minister of Education, Burity da Silva, in Lisbon, Portugal, said that with the peace Angola resurfaces and opens new perspectives for the future, and that partnerships have been made between the state and the civil society.
He said so while speaking at the international seminar on the theme "Overcoming the Education Challenges in

the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP)”, organised by the World Bank and the Portuguese Caloust Gulbenkian Foundation, taking place from 27 to 28 June, in Lisbon.
The minister added that new programmes have been appearing, which are turned to the socialisation of thousands of youths, who during the armed conflict were out of their social and cultural environment.
"Solidarity, spirit of tolerance and acceptance of difference are the main principles for education towards life and peace. Thus it is necessary to elaborate strategies to give a response to the post-war challenges", he said.
According to Burity da Silva, the Angolan government approved the literacy re-launching programme for children, youths and adults, as a component to recover the delay in the educational performance.
Attending the seminar are high ranking officials with the education sector of African Portuguese Speaking Countries (PALOP) and education experts from various points of the world.
The meeting aims at analysing issues of quality education, management and training of teachers, assessment of primary education, increase of aid to donors for progress of CPLP`s ongoing education reform.
