Luanda the island

Luanda during the day is mostly a working city. To this atmosphere is mixed an Atlantic Coast with a lot of fish, white and warm water beaches with iodine levels that favour sunbathing. This pleasure is completed by outdoor restaurants and bars (esplanadas) coupled with an outstanding sunset.
A walk through Downtown Luanda, takes one on a voyage through history. Monuments of colonial architecture like the Bank of Angola building are a pleasure to the eye. This sight is even more splendorous when viewed from the background of the bay and the island in from of it. The craft works market in Benfica and the Luanda market.

Telecommunication
The phone network is currently being modernized and the national company (Angolan Telecom) through digitalization of the entiere network and conversion of the present analogue mobile system to GSM. The transmission of the national television station TPA (Public Television of Angola ) is received seen throughout the country.
 
Health
The state run hospitals are ill-equipped and ill-manned at all levels, however there are a number of private clinics wiht modern facilities and qualified staft that provide quality medical services. Notable amongst these is the Clínica Sagrada Esperança, on the island of Luanda.
